05/20/23 - Schiff Natural History Walk Series- Franklin Parker
Schiff Natural Lands Trust maintains three separately named preserves, covering a vast 768 acres comprised of forest, meadow, stream, and wetlands protected as open space. This naturalist led spring walk series will show you the varied terrain as well as variety of flora and fauna that call each of Schiff's preserves home. Each session will meet at a different preserve location to be able to explore different aspects of Schiff's property. Each walk will cover approximately 1.5 to 3 miles. On 5/20, we will explore Franklin Parker Trail meeting at the Thomas Road parking lot just before 230 Thomas Rd., Mendham. This is an all weather event with the exception of thunderstorm, extreme wind, ice or wind chill temperature warnings. In the event of a cancellation, advance registration will ensure you receive a weather cancellation notice within 24 hours of the program start time.This hike is open to all ages. Wear sturdy shoes, dress for the weather, and bring binoculars (Schiff has some to loan out if you do not have your own, please indicate this in comment section upon registration). We also recommend a hat and bug lotion. Member fee is $5. Non- member fee is $10. Advance registration and payment is required.
